mini-environmental-mission
I sit opposite my colleague. He makes a lot of to-do-lists and brainstorms on papers - every day. Whenever he is done with one of them, he will fold the paper and throw it towards the dustbin, which is placed in the other corner of the office. This morning, I decided to take the dustbin and move it right next to his desk before he came in. When he was about to throw the first to-do-list of the day towards the dustbin, he looked at me puzzled. I just smiled. In less than a minute, he realized that it was just next to him. He threw the paper into it. He looked at me and smiled saying "you didn't have anything to do with this did you?".
For me this small intervention was a reflection of what I would like to do on a bigger scale. I live in Kathmandu and people tend to throw their waste - any waste - any where. But what else should they do? There might not be a dustbin for the next couple of kilometers! I would like to place some at every street corner.
