Prevention of Child marriages and violence
The society can lobby governments to ensure that best interests of the child are prioritised. Cultural and religious practices that promote child marriages must be done away with and perpetrators must be given heavy jail terms. Religious sects that perpetuate gross violations of children's rights must be closed and religious leaders who perpetuate such jailed and banned. Communities must be empowered to create structures that track and protect vulnerable children. Sensitizations on SGBV and power relations must be carried out in communities so that they understand the impacts of violence and child marriages on societies.
Violence affects the wellbeing of everyone in the society. It predominantly affects women children.
