In the Zambian society, young people suffer a very negative from unemployment and lack of opportunities. The adverse effects of this lack are early pregnancy, poverty, drug abuse and crime. despite the measures taken by our government to tackle these issues the growth in the number of unemployed youth is alarming. My long term career goal is to build a development agencies that will incorporate individuals with skill but no professional training and help them turn their skill into a growing enterprise. I would love to be a part of a group of like minded young people in order to learn and be inspired on how I can effectively impact peoples lives in my community and contribute to positive change.
Identifying this problem led to me joining a group called Youth care motivator group where we aspire to empower young people to create a means to live using their own natural capabilities as a source of income but in order for this organization to begin to show results, it needs help and inspiration from platforms that have and are currently running and impacting lives
Cecilia Makota is an inspirational person that valued education and formed an organisation that encouraged women in rural areas to get more involved in agriculture so as to provide for their families and communities. she did this to reduce hunger and poverty in rural communities.
In order to challenge a corrupt government, I would create a platform for citizens to learn about their rights and use them to voice out and hold the government accountable for its actions. Citizens being more aware of their rights is a step closer to changing a corrupt government in the sense that the bigger the number of aware citizens, the louder the voice speaking against corruption.
